On the 10th of October, one of our members spent a day in six different locations around Harborne East, counting traffic and measuring speed. Though these aren’t offical stats, they are informative of trends in the area.

Though these aren’t offical stats, they are informative of trends in the area.

Key points:

  • Very large traffic volume around Harborne Primary School.
  • Park Hill Road, Wentworth Road, and Ravenhurst Road are used to cut through the estate at high speed.
  • Overwhelming majority of cars exceed the speed limit.
  • Width of Ravenhurst Road and Wentworth Road encourages speeding.
  • Hardly any bikes on a fine day, indicating weather isn’t the reason people don’t cycle in the area.
