On the 10th of October, one of our members spent a day in six different locations around Harborne East, counting traffic and measuring speed.
Though these aren’t offical stats, they are informative of trends in the area.
Key points:
- Very large traffic volume around Harborne Primary School.
- Park Hill Road, Wentworth Road, and Ravenhurst Road are used to cut through the estate at high speed.
- Overwhelming majority of cars exceed the speed limit.
- Width of Ravenhurst Road and Wentworth Road encourages speeding.
- Hardly any bikes on a fine day, indicating weather isn’t the reason people don’t cycle in the area.
