Following a session identifying problems in Harborne, we noted with particular concern the amount of traffic that was cutting through the Moor Pool areas.
We describe the Moor Pool area as that bordered by Gillhurst Road, Lordswood Road, the High Street and Nursery Road. This is an almost entirely residential area, with two primary schools.
In particular, problems were highlighted around Park Hill Road, Ravenhurst Road and Wentworth Road.
The outcome was a recomendation of the following three actions:
- A Low Traffic Neighbourhood developed for the area
- School Streets, where there are brief road closures in the roads around the schools during pick-up and drop-off times
- Traffic calming measures, if still required following the LTN implementation
